| Happy New Year everyone! All the best in the Year of the Pig! 身体健康、心想事成、萬事勝意、笑口常開 Now let's take a look at how much snow we've got in the past few days. This is the coldest winter since I have been here, with temperatures hovering around -20C for weeks. Please warm up soon... Tomato has been frozen for too long! Snow piling up... almost to the second floor:

Successfully rescued my car from the snow. Now my parking space is marked by this 'hole', not by lines on the ground  (Note my right foot is deep inside the snow!)

| Catching a glimpse of the outside world the moment I got up, I couldn't help but curse the poor weather and lamented about my poor fate as I needed to walk back and forth multiple times in the snow-buried campus today. All this changed as I opened up my email account and saw three magic words from the school's chancellor: CLASSES ARE CANCELED. Hooray!! I was actually excited enough to stay up for a while before plunging into bed for a good nap. Come on, living in such a remote and cold part of the world, don't I deserve some hope every winter to wake up and find myself entitled for an extra holiday? Nothing is better than an extra holiday! As students, we all wish for days when school is called off because of bad weather. I know this is their first time doing this in probably 20 years. Well, maybe it is time to change their policy - at least for the few years I am here 7 pm: school is canceled for tomorrow as well!!! A mischievous smile came on my face, as broad as that of Mickey Mouse's. So, no valentines for this Valentine's Day still. But oh well, at least I got two days off! Let's look at how much snow there is today! Outside my balcony by late afternoon:
